Scarpacci is a Canadian mini series about a motley crew of inept mobsters and their day to day operations, both legitamate and ilegitamate, as they eagerly strive for a spot on the top of the food chain in the underworld, and to earn favor with the Godfather of their crime family, Nicodemo Scarpacci.  Scarpacci , so far,  remains an enigma of sorts, never appearing in an episode. Nevertheless his underlings remain ever loyal to him and see his orders are carried out.  In Season one, A series of indictments are issued taking out most of the Scarpacci Crime Family administration, including the underboss, consiglieri, and 4 capodecina. Scarpacci was tipped off 

about the upcoming indictments and went into hiding, though he continues to run the family while on the lamb.   Of those remaining on the street, one faction lined up behind Giovanni Bonventre and his partner in crime Chester Sierra, and another faction is loyal to Salvatore " Big Sal" Graziano. While not officially at war and technicaly part of the same syndicate, Giovanni, Chester and crew are bitter rivals of Graziano,  always at odds with Big Sal, as both groups try to out do one another and assert themselves as the dominant crew in the Scarpacci  Crime Family. Chester and Giovanni believe that once they have been  established as the top crew,  promotions to the newly vacant administrative positions

of underboss will follow.
